Abalone
- Description
-
Abalone (Haliotis roei), here at Kalbarri, can occur at very high densities. The almost circular outlines of individuals are packed closely together on the reef platform. The photograph below shows abalone at a more commonly encountered density. The white discs contain tags used to individually identify abalone so that their growth and survival can be estimated. tagged abalone Hancock, B. 2000.
