Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

 

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is a program of independent, supervised research assessed solely on the basis of a thesis that is examined externally.

A doctoral thesis must be a substantial and original contribution to knowledge of the subject with which it deals.

Benefits provided by Animal Biology

The School of Animal Biology offers many benefits to postgraduate researchers including:

  • up to $2500 per year for 4 years in operational costs 
  • a one off $800 allocation for travel support to attend either one international conference or two domestic conferences
  • a personal computer

Thesis topics

If you are interested in a science thesis, but not sure about the subject, you may want to consider the following research areas of the School of Animal Biology, which include names of potential supervisors:

Conservation Biology and Wildlife Management

Animal Production
